Flaine and Surroundings

Flaine is a ski resort and mountain village located in the Haute-Savoie region in eastern France. The village lies at an altitude of about 1,600 metres in the French Alps and is part of the Grand Massif ski area. In addition to skiing, there is also plenty to do around the resort in summer. Hiking and mountain biking are popular pastimes, as the area has numerous trails and routes to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.

 

In winter, skiing opportunities abound. Ski resort Le Grand Massif is very large and is formed by Flaine and four smaller villages. Furthermore, Flaine offers cultural and historical sights. The cities of Chamonix, Annecy and Geneva are also pretty close to Vallorcine. Finally, a visit to Aiguille du Midi is definitely recommended.

 

In short, Flaine offers something for everyone and is a great destination for an active or relaxing holiday.
